New Year is a time for a fresh start. It is also a time for contemplation and celebration. Especially in my case because Priscilla Thomas Photography turns sweet sixteen! This calls for reflection, refresh, and revel.
I once heard that the average lifespan of a wedding business is seven years. To be an outlier of this statistic is humbling and rewarding. To be a business owner takes discipline, grit, and reinvention. To be an artist takes connection, curiosity, and exploration.
I could delve into the highs and lows that naturally come with longevity as a professional artist for sixteen years. But at this moment, for this year, I prefer to focus on gratitude
Hundreds of couples have trusted me to document one of the most joyous days of their lives. Numerous vendors that I’ve had the pleasure to be on the same wedding team with (it takes a small village!). I am still finding reasons to fall in love with the craft of photography – especially with rekindling a passion for film photography in recent years.
I am grateful. And I look forward to what this Sweet Sixteen year brings!
